My mother just informed me that we are moving from Dallas to San Antonio. My grandmother is getting up there in years and needs more help from her family now. It will be awesome to see my grandma every day. With me being the eldest of three children, I was chosen to help my mother look for apartments in Stone Oak, which is a section of San Antonio. This was going to be exciting and fun to help pick out our next home.
My mother took me out to lunch at my favorite pizza place so we could discuss the apartment search without interruption from my younger twin brothers. She let me order whatever kind of pizza I wanted. While we were waiting for our food to arrive we started a list of must-haves in an apartment. A swimming pool was at the top of our list because we all are avid swimmers. We had to have at least three bedrooms if not four. Four bedrooms would be ideal but we could make it work with only three. It had to have washer and dryer hookups in the apartment. I couldn’t imagine going to the laundry mat and washing clothes for five people. That would be awful. I made the suggestion of an onsite fitness center. I loved working out in the evenings. By the time we finished the list our food arrived.
While eating, we talked about my grandma and her failing health and how worried my mom was about her. I knew this was going to be the right decision to move. My grandma is the absolute greatest and we would all do anything in the world for her. I’m looking forward to her teaching me how to knit and sew. Making a quilt is going to be our first project. I can’t wait.
